4 Dan gave out prizes which were awarded by drawing numbers affixed to candy canes. Jan B. won Dan paying for her dinner. Edith won a cup of spiced tea and cookies and Gary won a tree.
4 Clubs still need to contact Dan to set up his official visits to your club.
4 Report on KI President’s visit—Matt Ries: President is a dynamic speaker and gave great ideas to “fire up” your club. Be organized, have ice breakers, have a plan. Others attending had similar feelings.

Book Bank: John Frucci—gave a short history of the Bank.
4 Started about 12 years ago by United Way with a collection of 26,000 books of which 13,000 went to the dump. First ever collection in Spokane.
4 United Way contracted with TV stations, Q-6 took over after contract expired. John has run the Kiwanis side since about the third year of its existence.
4 Around 150,000 books given out.
4 Hastings has supported the Bank with cash donations which are used by John to purchase new books from Hastings.
4 Last drive was a few weeks ago by 4 schools. Currently need help sorting, putting stickers in each book, putting books on shelves or back in boxes. Call John to arrange time for a group of not more than 6.

2010 District Convention—Jan & Chris: Next meeting of the convention committee is Monday, December 14, 6:00 pm, at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Rd. in the valley. January meeting is Monday 18th.

Lend-A-Crib—Dick Avery: Gave short history—started in 1992 with expansion of idea from East Wenatchee Kiwanis Club.
4 Over 1150 cribs in homes in the Spokane area.
4 Work with Public Health nurses, Sacred Heart Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, WIC.
4 Budget—about $4500 yearly.
4 Crib cost now $140 plus mattress of about $32.
4 Please remember to put LAC in your club budget.
Key Leader—Gary: committee met tonight. Needed is a representative to the committee from each club especially those that sponsor Key Clubs.

4 January Project—Book Drive for children birth to 6. Books can be dropped off at Dan’s work or brought to Division Council meeting.
Division Website—Vicki: videos, as soon as they are done, will be available on the site. Planned are a sample of a new member induction, installation of officers, and a guide to a new member orientation session. Currently a video of Construction Career Day for High School students is playing.
Service Leadership Programs
CKI (Circle K)—Lt. Governor Amy Woiwod: Whitworth up and going—Officers have been trained.
Fall Conference this weekend. 18 attended the first meeting. Project right now is making holiday cards.
4 EWU—done for the quarter.
4 GU—did about 500 finals baskets.
Key Club—Lt. Governor Chelsie Scott: Clubs doing Christmas related projects.
4 Thanks to all Kiwanis clubs for helping Chelsie with travel expenses.
4 Mt. Spokane High School sending in Charter request with 21 members signed.
Builders Club—Chuck Richardson, Area Administrator: Chase Middle School has elected officers and has about 20 members. Charter celebration maybe in January.
K-Kids—Kaptain K (Dan Whye): Lincoln Heights Elementary started late this year. 12 4th & 5th graders are doing a food drive, a book drive, continuing a generic coloring book for children in hospitals, and will do a penny drive for the Guild School. Election of officers, Dec. 16.
4 Liberty Lake Elementary—last Oct. gave glow-in-the-dark bracelets to all students at the school and Halloween safety tip sheets.
· In Nov. made posters and ornaments for the Tree of Sharing and collecting toys.
· Making and selling fleece scarves as a fundraiser and in Dec. will have their annual Christmas party.
Aktion Club—Dan VH: next Convention planning meeting is Wednesday January 13 at Center Pointe.
